The neighbourhood of Wellington is found in north west Edmonton. Between 1946 and 1960, 66.8% of Wellington homes were constructed, and during the 1960s, another 25% were completed, with the remaining construction being completed by 1970. Single-family homes are the most common type of residence in Wellington, according to the 2005 municipal census, and make up 76% of all the neighbourhood homes. Row houses make up 16%, low-rise apartments make up 5%, and duplexes make up the last 2%. A total of 70% of all Wellington homes are owner-occupied. There are three neighbourhood schools, two of which are operated by the Edmonton Catholic School System: St. Angela Catholic Elementary School and Sir John Thompson Catholic Junior High School, and one operated by the Edmonton Public School System: McArthur Elementary School.
