Keheewin Edmonton Real Estate
The neighbourhood of Keheewin is located in south west Edmonton. Keheewin means “eagle” in Cree. Construction in Keheewin started in the 1970s, according to the 2001 federal census, when 14.2% of the homes in the neighbourhood were built. The majority were built in the 1980s, when 62.4% of the homes in Keheewin were built. Another 19.9% were built in the 1990s. There is still development to be done in the neighbourhood. Single-family homes are the most common type of home, according to the 2005 municipal census, and make up 49% of the homes in the neighbourhood. Another 36% is comprised of apartments and apartment-style condominiums, 10% is row houses, and the last 4% is comprised of duplexes. A total of 83% of the homes in Keheewin are owner-occupied.
