The neighbourhood of Grovenor is found in west Edmonton. Originally, it was named Westgrove, and one of the professional buildings on 142 Street still uses Westgrove as a name. The very first homes in Grovenor were built in 1907, with other homes in the neighbourhood dating back to the 1910s. According to the 2001 federal census, 18.2% of Grovenor homes were built by the end of the second World War. The majority of all Grovenor homes were constructed by 1980.
