The neighborhood of Steinhauer is located in southwest Edmonton, situated between 111th Street and Calgary Trail, just south of 34 Avenue. The majority of the homes in Steinhauer were built in the 1970s, according to the 2001 federal census. A total of 87.9% of the homes in Steinhauer were built between 1970 and 1980. Most of the rest of the homes were built between 1980 to 1990. According to the 2005 municipal census, the most common type of home in Steinhauer is single family homes, which make up a total of three-quarters of the homes in the neighborhoods. The majority of the rest of the homes are row houses. A total of 89% of the homes in Steinhauer are owner-occupied.
