The neighbourhood of Hazeldean is located in south east Edmonton, and overlooks the Mill Creek Ravine on its east side. According to the 2001 federal census, 9.2% of the homes in Hazeldean were built before 1946. The majority of homes in Hazeldean were built between 1946 and 1960, when 74.2% were built. Another 10% of homes were constructed in the 1960s, and the other 6.5% were constructed after 1970. Single-family homes are the most common type of home in Hazeldean, and make up a total of 83% of the homes in the neighbourhood, according to the 2005 municipal census.
