The neighbourhood of Crawford Plains is located in south Edmonton. It’s a part of the Mill Woods community of Southwood. Construction in Crawford Plains began in the 1970s, when 26.4% of homes in the neighbourhood were built, according to the 2001 federal census. Most of the homes in Crawford Plains were built in the 1980s – a total of 58.2% were built in that decade. The final 14.4% were constructed during the 1990s. Single-family homes are the most common type of home in Crawford Plains, according to the 2005 municipal census, and make up 77% of all homes in the neighbourhood. Another 17% is comprised of row houses, and the last 6% is comprised of duplexes. A total of 84% of all homes in the neighbourhood are owner-occupied.
